“Clean hair, skin and teeth are a right, not a privilege. Personal hygiene – while not a matter of life and death – is crucial for our dignity, self-respect, personal pride and mental health,” – Beauty Banks.
For too many people in Britain, sanitary products and soapy showers are a luxury. We want to do something about this as part of Green Week.
We’re looking for unopened shampoo, body wash, deodorant, soap, shaving products, tampons, sanitary towels, wipes, hand sanitisers, combs, hairbands, sunscreen, lotion, spot cream, Band-Aids, conditioner, lipstick – the kind of things you couldn’t imagine living without. Your donations will be distributed to those in need across the UK by Beauty Banks.
If you have unwanted presents, why not recycle them or just donate to support this worthy cause?
- Bring these items in between 11 and 15 February and donate them
- Products need to be unopened, to comply with health and safety rules
- As nail polish, nail polish remover and perfume are restricted solvents, they can’t be donated
Where to donate
Look out for posters across our colleges and halls of residence telling you where to hand in these items.
Your donations will be sent to those who’ll most benefit from your kindness via Beauty Banks, whose team of volunteers will sort, pack and distribute them across its network of charity food banks and homeless shelters.
