I am a BA Womenswear student at LCF. When I'm not busy designing you'll probably find me wandering around brick lane, a museum (the V&A is my favourite!) or in my flat cooking up some new concoction. This summer I will be writing a series of recipes for Commonplace while preparing for my final year at LCF.

Top 3 tips for a new student
1. Work hard. It's such a great opportunity to study at UAL, and the best time to really push yourself and explore your chosen subject before you graduate and have to think about making work for other people. This is your time to make work for you without feeling like you have to please anyone else, except maybe your tutors. But hopefully they too will be encouraging you to push yourself and discover who you are as an artist or designer.
2. Budget. I find it hard to stick to a budget sometimes because London can be expensive and its so tempting to just not worry and spend, spend, spend! But in the long run you'll be thanking yourself.
3. Make the most of your time in London. On my course theres a lot of pressure to do masses and masses of work. Which is good, and fine, but don't forget to make time for exploring the city and all it has to offer. Don't see it as a distraction from your work, which is easy to do if like me your course is so intense, but as a chance to find new inspiration and be in a good frame of mind for creating your work.
