Local Sporting Stadiums

Many people say that London is the home of Sport, and with the array of sporting grounds accessible in the countries capital, it would be extremely hard to argue.

London is home to some of the most famous sporting grounds around the globe, and with summer sporting schedule as full as it has ever been for this year, there are options a plenty for people to go and watch sport at the highest level.

Lords Cricket Ground:

Known as the home of cricket, Lords is situated in St Johns Wood and is the most prestigious cricket ground not only in London, but in the world. Lords will be hosting the first Test Match between England and Pakistan from the 14th of July, with tickets still available.

Lords is also home to county side Middlesex, who have vital up and coming T20 and county games throughout June and July, making Lords a lucrative option to watch sport this summer.

The Oval Cricket Ground:

Staying with cricket and to a ground located in Kennington, South London, fairly close to UAL, the Oval cricket ground will also be hosting some major cricket events over the summer.

The Kia Oval will be hosting one of the ODI's between England and Sri Lanka later this month, although tickets are now sold out. However, there is still some availabilty for the Test Match against Pakistan in early August, with England gunning for a number 1 spot in the Test rankings.

County side Surrey also play at the Oval, and with the likes of Roy and Sangakarra in their side, attending T20 or county games becomes even an even more appealing option to watch cricket this summer.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park:

Located in Stratford and used for the Olympic Games, QEOP has alot to offer this summer.

The Park is made up of numerous sporting venues, including the Olympic Park, The Cobberbox Arena, The Veledrome and more.

The Copperbox is a multi-sport venue that was used to the Olympics. It is also the home of Basketball matches for the London Lions, which from personal experience, is a pleasantly enjoyable event to attent due to the vibrant atmosphere.

There are also a number of other events running at the park throughout the summer, including Velobalancing sessions (worth a look), aquatic activites, music concerts and more.
