London transport

London is well known for their underground and red buses. UAL is based in the heart of elephant and castle where transport is so easy to get. From elephant and castle there are buses, an underground station and also a train station. The buses come very regularly almost every 2-4minutes. Elephant and castle is such a busy area but the transport makes it so much easier. You can connect to most central places via tube. For example, oxford street. I live at home in Camberwell which is maximum 20mintues to elephant and castle. When coming to university I take a straight bus from my house. I have two buses (12 and 171) that take me directly to university or I can chose to walk two minutes to then choose from several other buses. Getting the bus is also cost efficient for me. A single bus journey on my oyster card cost £1.50 and I tap on twice a day. So travelling to university only costs me £3 when ever I need to be in. As a student you will also receive discount on monthly cards. It’s very convenient that I live somewhere that the transport is so easy to get. I love how frequent the buses come and the fact that the bus stops right outside the university. Although a lot of the time London transport has delays and strikes but there is always another option and getting around. One important advice i would say is that avoid travelling during rush hour (5pm/6pm). It can be really horrible getting on the tube and so many people are trying to get on all at once. At times it is possible to miss so many trains due to the fact that they are all full. Apart from overcrowding and delays London transport is great and fast. I drive but in London I find it so much easier using transport especially when you are late and want to be on time.
